Wolfgang Lockemann

Wolfgang Lockemannwas born and educated in Germany, where he earned his Ph.D. in German Language and Literature magna cum laude. Additionally, he trained as an actor and received an Artist's Diploma in Rhetoric and Recitation. Dr. Lockemann lived for many years in America, where he was Professor of German Language and Literature in several leading universities. He returned to Germany for several years in order to concentrate on artistic endeavors (LIVE LIED UND LYRIK), and a series of workshops for professionals under the title DIE KRAFT DES SPRECHENS. For decades Dr. Lockemann has given recitations (often in collaboration with singers and instrumentalists) as well as coaching singers and pianists, from students to professionals, in preparation of Lieder recitals. These days he lives and works in Europe and America, where he teaches workshops, coaches, and gives recitals with singers and instrumentalists. For over 20 years Dr. Lockemann has been on the faculty of AIMS in Graz, Austria, where he teaches his beloved "Poetry of the German Lied" class.


Tracy Brighty

Tracy BrightyAfter studying both Comparative Literature and Vocal Performance (with Yolanda Marculescu) at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Ms. Brighty moved to Miami, where she completed both her Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Miami. Her continuing studies have taken her to some of the leading teachers and coaches in America and Europe. Having performed both in Europe and America, she currently splits her time between the two, maintaining a large and thriving voice studio in Miami. Her students have consistently received a multitude of scholarships and awards, and have been accepted into leading universities throughout America. Since 2002 Ms. Brighty has been a Board Member of Amici dell'Arte, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing and creating performance opportunities for South Florida artists. She also sits on the Advisory Board of SoBe Music Institute - Miami's Institute of the Arts, which is dedicated to establishing and building a world class degree granting institution on Miami Beach, which today includes programs for youth, adults and seniors, regardless of socioeconomic background.


Amanda Johnston

Amanda Johnstonenjoys a thriving career as a freelance collaborative pianist.  Currently based in Toronto, she was educated at Queen’s University at Kingston, the Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” in Weimar, Germany and the Janáček Academy of Music in Brno, Czech Republic. After spending six years studying and performing in Germany, she chose to specialize in German Lied, providing the ideal opportunity to combine her strong interest in poetry and languages. Bilingual in German and English, she also has a high proficiency in French and Italian. Since returning to Canada in 1999, her busy schedule has included accompanying and coaching at the University of Toronto, Royal Conservatory of Music, and York University. Amanda is currently on staff in the Opera Division at the University of Toronto. In November 2007, she was invited to present a series of masterclasses in art song repertoire at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Glenn Gould School). She was awarded a Canada Council Performing Arts Grant, as well as a Chalmers Professional Development Grant (Ontario Arts Council), enabling her to pursue private instruction from Malcolm Martineau, Rudolf Jansen and Martin Isepp, among others. Amanda Johnston is the Artistic Director of “In Recital”, a recital series now in its fourth exciting season. She has performed in Canada, the United States, Germany, France, Austria, and Scotland. Eckart Sellheim

Eckart Sellheimreceived his musical training in Germany and Switzerland; Adolf Drescher and Jacob Gimpel were among his teachers. He was appointed to the faculties of the two major universities in Cologne, Germany, and continued his academic career as Associate Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Since 1989 he has been Professor and Director of Collaborative Piano at Arizona State University in Tempe. He is a frequent guest lecturer of fortepiano and performance practice at various music academies in Germany and has taught numerous masterclasses and workshops in the USA and several European countries. Mr. Sellheim maintains an active performance schedule, touring throughout the USA, Central America, the Caribbean, Africa and Europe, including Russia. He has rediscovered and performed in concert and on disc a host of unknown piano concertos by Classical and Romantic composers, and played the world premiere of Debussy's early piano trio. His longtime collaboration with his late brother, cellist Friedrich-Jürgen Sellheim, is manifested in an award winning set of recordings on the CBS/Sony label. He appears regularly on radio programs in the USA and abroad and has made more than 20 recordings on piano and fortepiano as a soloist and collaborative pianist.
