What we do

What we are about:
to leave you with skills and tools you can and want to use in the future
Lied Austria International, unlike the other Lieder programs, offers you the opportunity of learning a fresh path to Lied performance. You will be able to create a closer bond with your audience and communicate more effectively. You achieve new views and skills for all you sing: and, yes, that means opera too! You will become more efficient in your preparation, practice and performance.
What we want to be:
a close group of artists learning with - and from - each other
At LAI you can expect a faculty completely dedicated to your artistic growth, which is based on healthy singing, full text comprehension and musical understanding. For professional, student and teacher alike, the comprehensive work at Lied Austria International can make the defining difference you have long been searching for.
What makes us stand out from the competition:
our innovative approach
In the personal, family-like atmosphere of LAI, in addition to daily private lessons and coachings, you are immersed in our unique Work with Words approach. You experience the value of text in a new and exciting way: more fun and more supportive for your performance than you may have imagined possible.
Work with Words leads to the Musical Transformation of Language (MTL). MTL is the performer's long lost key to Lied Performance. It is part of an integrated performance strategy that is solely taught at LAI.

Be smart:
Do more than improve on old habits and correct mistakes.
Try a fresh approach! |

"I think the approach was wonderful. It brought a deeper understanding of the text, providing everything one needs to really perform it, not just sing it. I think it is important that this type of work be pursued."

"'To make a difference' - in perception, in approach to German poetry, to Lied; this is what you did for me. I just want more! It was such a highlight."

"The expression has to grow from within, like all growth does, not painted on or added from the outside."
